Customized Plans for Every Dog
Our Services
In-home training for every age and temperament — puppy basics through off-leash advanced, reactive rehab, certified service & therapy dogs, and wedding-day handling.
What We Offer
Professional K9 Services
K9 Standards has spent decades doing one thing: building real, reliable obedience in real homes across South Jersey. From eight-week-old puppies to seniors with a lifetime of bad habits, every dog gets a plan written for them — not for the average dog.
We come to you. Weekly. We work the plan until the behavior is locked in — no fixed end date, no upsell ladder, no group classes you have to drive to. Just you, your dog, your trainer, and your home.
Reactivity, aggression, service-dog certification, wedding-day handling — whatever the goal is, we've done it before, and we'll do it for you.

Foundation Training
Basic Obedience
Every well-mannered dog is built on the same four commands: a proper sit, a proper down, a proper heel, and a proper place. We come to your home once a week and teach you and your dog together — so the obedience holds at the front door, on the leash, and around the dinner table.
We don't run pre-set programs. Each session builds on the last, paced to your dog. We stay with you week after week until the behavior is locked in — no graduation timer, just a trained dog at the end.
- Proper sit, down, heel, and place
- Stop jumping, nipping, and chewing
- Loose-leash walking
- Weekly in-home sessions
- Customized to your dog and your home
Our Specialty
Reactive Rehab & Behavior Modification
Reactivity, fear, and aggression don't have to mean medication or surrender. We've rehabilitated dogs with bite histories and dogs that other trainers turned away — using positive training, in your home, at your dog's pace.
We build a customized desensitization plan around your specific triggers and run it step-by-step until the reactivity resolves. No shortcuts, no quick fixes — just the dog you knew was in there, brought back out.
- Dog-reactivity and people-reactivity
- Bite histories welcome
- Fear and anxiety rehabilitation
- No medication required
- Positive training methods only
Certified Teams
Service & Therapy Dog Training
We train certified service dogs and therapy dogs from the ground up. The program covers full environmental desensitization — stores, restaurants, transit, crowds — plus two physician-approved tasks tailored to your specific need.
Every team graduates with official certification and an ID card. Advanced Obedience is a prerequisite, so your dog has the off-leash reliability needed to perform under real-world pressure.
- Full environmental desensitization
- Two physician-approved tasks
- Certification and ID card included
- Off-leash reliability in public
- Advanced Obedience prerequisite
Why K9 Standards
Why Dog Owners Choose Us
Sixty-eight years of combined experience, in your home, on a plan built for your dog.
-
In Your Home, Not a Facility
Dogs learn where they live. Real obedience holds in the kitchen, at the door, and on the leash — not just in a training ring.
-
Reactive & Aggressive Specialists
We take the cases other trainers refuse — including dogs with bite histories — and rehabilitate them with positive methods.
-
No Pre-Set Programs
Every plan is built from scratch around your dog. We adapt session by session — your dog never gets a one-size-fits-all curriculum.
-
We Stay Until It Sticks
No graduation timer. We come back week after week until the behavior is locked in for life.
